I was inside my room, sleeping when I heard a noise, like someone trying to hack into a house. My house. I was nervous when I heard the burglar footsteps to my parents room. Whoever that person is managed to break into my house!
I quickly searched for my phone but realise that I left it at the dining table. Not knowing what to do, I decided to call for help from my neighbour. I quietly tip-toed to my bedroom door and listened intently, the burglar is still in my parents room. Next might be mine. I decided to escape through the window.
I tip-toed to the window, open it to the fullest and jumped out, trying to minimize the noises. Once I was outside safely, I closed the bedroom window and ran to my neighbour on a storey above mine. She was a policewomen, Mrs. Blumenfield, and her off days were on Fridays. Since it was Friday, which meant I reached home around one o'clock. Now it's three.
I frantically knocked on her door, and as soon as she opened the door, I told her everything and the next thing I knew, we were outside my house. The burglar was still inside, as we can hear the burglar ransacking the place. Slowly Mrs. Blumenfield went into the house. I was told to wait outside.
Mrs. Blumenfield managed to capture the burglar, who was apparently being hunted down by the police for several months. Hearing this made me feel proud. Their was at least 4 policemen who walked him down from the sixth storey to the first, just to make sure he doesn't escape. They told me that my quick thinking and actions actually helped them capture a criminal they have been searching for months.
None of my parents items and belongings was stolen as he has not manage to escape with it. My parents were extremely proud of me for helping the police to nab him. I was praised over and over again. From that incident onwards, I always had my hand phone with me, just in case of emergency, if I won't be as lucky in the future.
